How does this fit into the existing PUML ecosystem?

Most people are familiar with the PUML app. This revolutionary move-to-earn platform rewards and engages users through gamification technology and social features that incentivise better health and well-being.

In the PUML app, the user rewards come in the form of PUML tokens. These tokens can then be exchanged for real-value items, from gift cards to NFTs. They can also be donated to a number of different charities.

PUML Tokens vs PUMLx Tokens

While PUML tokens are blockchain built and operate on MoveFi principles, they are in-app-only and operate more like Web2 game tokens. They bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3, making it easier for novice Web3 participants to engage with the PUML app.

PUMLx, on the other hand, is a Web3 cryptocurrency asset. It is built on the Ethereum platform, and unlike PUML tokens, it’s compatible with third-party wallets, exchanges, listings, and other Web3 systems. This gives PUMLx tokens superpowers that are not useable through the in-app-only PUML tokens.

PUMLx Utilities

PUMLx is PUML’s DeFi (decentralised finance) coin that will have wide utility both in an outside of the PUML ecosystem. It can be used to buy Athlete NFTs and other assets, be staked for yields, be swapped for other assets, and be used in market trading.

Essentially, PUMLx can do everything a normal crypto asset can:

• Staking — Staked on the PUML App and allow an estimated 250% APR year one;
• Trading Fees — Trading fees collected by the protocol are distributed to PUMLx stakers as rewards from our NFT Athlete and Sports Marketplace.

In the PUML ecosystem, PUMLx acts as a way for investors to purchase PUML’s Athlete NFTs and digital wearables with their own wearable NFT utilities.

Introducing WearX

PUML’s Genesis WearX Collection features 5000 NFTs that are hand drawn and algorithmically generated by the in-house NFT studio at PUML. The NFTs come in more than 600 different trait designs, colourations and variations, such as watch bands, backgrounds, faces, accessories and models.

Like PUMLx, the WearX NFTs are developed and distributed on the Ethereum blockchain. They are digital wearables with real gameplay in the PUML app and DeFi ecosystem. They each feature three primary utilities:

1. Battery — encouraging users to claim their PUMLx bonuses, the battery displays how often a user will have to charge the battery to continue claiming the activity bonuses.
2. Damage Resistance — to keep users active, the watch becomes unusable when the lifespan of the watch reaches 0. This begins on the first claim day.
3. Distance — steps can be claimed on the watch but NFTs range in rarity and impact how many steps. The rarer the NFT, the more steps can be claimed.

While the move to Web3 marks a massive shift in PUML’s capabilities and features, the experience for users remains the same: move to earn. And existing holders of the PUML token can now Burn PUML to PUMLx and enter into the Web3 MoveFi world.

Simply download the PUML app, register and participate in physical and wellness challenges, collect PUML tokens and convert them in the app to PUMLx.

What is Polygon?

The origin story of PUML goes back to the early days of crypto. Founder Damien King saw a huge opportunity in the web three space to incentivize behaviour with crypto. The basic idea is that by doing something healthy, you get rewarded in crypto and NFT’s.

The first iteration was developed when he was living in London when he was in the process of building his first startup. He was working for Virgin at the time and he and a friend decided to build a company together, as a side hustle. Damien found himself coding late at night, after working all day, drinking too much Red Bull to keep going. After about 18 months of working super long hours, he found his health starting to suffer.

Burnout is a real issue in many industries. When you’re overwhelmed at work, other parts of your life can start to suffer. Damien realized he needed a little help to stay motivated on his health journey. Which is what inspired him to create PUML. Group challenges are a really exciting way to do that, especially group challenges. Because you’re together with a group of people, you’re more motivated to win something. At the core of PUML is the idea of community. When you’re doing something as a part of a group it’s more engaging than a sole endeavor.

Own Your Data

King first wrote the original white paper back in 2018, around not only the incentification of healthy behaviours, but also another important area, health data. Health data is one of our most important data elements, which at the moment, people may not care too much about. But in the future with things like the predictive diagnosis of lifestyle diseases and things like that, our data will become more and more valuable. So it’s important that we don’t just leave it to chance. We don’t allow large organisations and governments to control our own health data, but we own and control that data and we can potentially commercialise that data. So the original white paper was all about improving your health through incentification but also owning your own data.

One of the features that make PUML quite unique is they integrate wearable data. So first of all, data has to be filled from multiple data sources. So PUML has native integrations with Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Health, Samsung, and other wearable technologies. So the first piece of the puzzle is pulling that data in, clearing that data, and doing some anti-cheating mechanisms on that. And so a lot of that data is quite complex, there is a centralised system that basically purifies that data.

The next step is the gamification elements. So that’s where PUML helps to reward people when they complete those healthy challenges like meditating once a day or walking a certain amount of steps over a period of time. This is the point where PUML starts to integrate with the blockchain because you ultimately earn cryptocurrency for each challenge that you’re associated with. And so the interface, which is essentially a mobile app on iOS and Android and that has like a native crypto wallet, which at the moment, is EOS base but will be transitioning to EVM in the future.

Move to Earn

In 2019, PUML was in an accelerator with the University of Queensland and Hype Spin, which is a sports tech accelerator from Tel Aviv. And it was then that the concept of everyone should be paid to be healthy was solidified. That in an ideal world the user becomes like a professional athlete, where someone always pays you to be healthy. And PUML was the app to enable that for the masses.

Move to Earn apps are Web 3 Lifestyle Apps that combine crypto, social media and gaming features into one app. You can earn cryptocurrency by simply doing things such as walking, jogging, or running outside. These online games encourage their players to earn money by living a healthier lifestyle. When you add blockchain technology and crypto-assets as rewards into the mix, incentification increases even further. With blockchain technology, digital assets can be distributed directly to users instead of using things like vouchers or discounts. The combination has led to the emergence of the new term GameFi.

The move-to earn model takes the world of fitness trackers one step further by adding incentives for people to share their workouts, interact with others, and complete challenges. These addictive rewards such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs, are earned by achieving certain milestones and are the basis of the blockchains’ version of the move-to earn model. With Move to Earn you earn rewards for exercising, upgrading skills, and participating in fitness competitions. With the rise of online social networks and video games has come a huge increase in the number of individuals who are now going digital and are searching for digital fitness. The fitness industry is worth $100 billion and Move to Earn is poised to become the next big trend.

PUML + Ethereum

The original vision for PUML was to be a mass-market product, something that could bridge the gap between web 2 and web 3 users. At the time, and even still today, Ethereum was not a scalable platform. This is why PUML was originally built on EOS.

EOS uses a delegated proof of stake consensus mechanism as opposed to Ethereum’s Proof of Work. No one even knew what proof of stake was in 2018–2019 when PUML was founded. EOS was created by Dan Larimer, a very smart guy who was quite good friends with Vitalik, and he understood the issues the ETH was dealing with, with their scaling. At the time the EOS platform offered more opportunities that would allow PUML to build a mass market app, and that’s why PUML originally chose to go with EOS.

As the market continued to evolve and as Ethereum became more scaleable with the invention of layer 2 scaling solutions and the evolution of NFTs, it made sense to migrate over to an ERC20 EVM world where the biggest markets for NFTs were being built. PUML’s flagship Genisis Sports Athlete NFTs are built on Ethereum as the PUMLx token which is in the works.

As PUML will be delisted from all exchanges and lose all current in-app value, we wanted to ensure you weren’t missing out on any of your gains. We’re going to be providing a straightforward process for you to burn your PUML and receive PUMLx in a 2:1 exchange (2 PUML : 1 PUMLx). The process is explained below:

3. Add your Ethereum address in the memo. This step is crucial and you will not receive PUMLx without it

In-App Wallet Integration

Due to delisting PUML off of EOS, the EOS wallet will be removed from the PUML app and replaced with Ethereum native wallets. This will include Metamask and wallet connect, to ensure any Ethereum compatible wallet can be connected to our app. Eventually as PUML begins to branch out, other chains will become available and wallets will connect seamlessly.
